49ers Linebacker Arrested in Tampa

Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A San Francisco 49ers player went to jail on a domestic violence charge after slapping his girlfiend during an argument at the team's hotel Saturday night, Tampa Police said.

Ruben Foster and the 28-year-old woman, started arguing at the Grand Hyatt around 9 p.m. The woman told police that Foster knocked her phone out of her hand, shoved her, and slapped her face. Police observed a one-inch scratch on the woman's collar bone.

Foster, 24, had an arrest in February accused of beating up an ex-girlfriend. Charges were dropped when the woman in that case did not want to press charges, and prosecutors had no other evidence. The woman in this case, according to the arrest affidavit, does want to prosecute.

Foster was in town with the 49ers, who had a game scheduled with the Buccaneers. He was listed as questionable to play in the game before the arrest because of injury.
