Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA)-A Brandon man is dead after he was hit by two cars on I-4 early this morning.
The highway patrol says an Uber driver was called to pick up the intoxicated man at a restaurant in Brooksville, where two men put him into the back of the car and told the driver to take him to his residence in Brandon.
The highway patrol says during the ride, the drunk passenger became agitated and told the driver to stop the car. As the driver was pulling over onto the shoulder of southbound I-75 near the I-4 exit, the passenger opened the cars left-side door and stepped out into the path of two southbound cars.
The 28 year old passenger was taken to Tampa General where he died from his injuries. His name has not been released until his family can be notified
