Palmetto, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-A teacher at Imagine School here is recovering from wounds he got when he was attacked by a Manatee County Sheriff's Office dog.
A deputy, on his way to work, stopped by the school to drop off his son. When a teacher opened the door of the marked sheriff's K9 unit to let the child out, the dog jumped out and bit the teacher.
The teacher suffered two minor puncture wounds to his abdomen. As a precaution, the teacher was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital.
The deputy claims the teacher opened the door and released the dog before either man realized what was happening. The incident remains under investigation.
