St.Petersburg,Fla.(970 WFLA)-A 29-year-old suspect is in custody after a St. Petersburg woman was fatally shot by a stray bullet while sitting on her front porch.
Police say Jamel Walker faces a second-degree murder charge after Alesha Kendrick was killed while eating breakfast on her porch at 2000 45th Street South, in the Twin Brooks neighborhood Sunday morning.
Walker allegedly fired at a vehicle that was driving by and one of the bullets hit the 38-year-old woman. Police say several kids inside the house were uninjured.
Kendrick was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died of her injuries.
