Land O'Lakes,Fla.(970 WFLA)-A Pasco County School Principal is accused of stealing from a special needs student. Deputies arrested 50-year-old Edward Abernathy of Land O Lakes, for stealing 900 dollars from the nine-year-old boy.
Last month, deputies say the boy brought 21-hundred dollars to Connerton Elementary School, and when teachers found out, they locked it in Abernathy's office. When the boy's mother arrived, deputies say Abernathy only returned 12-hundred dollars and kept the rest.
Abernathy's booked on one charge of grand theft.
