NASA Scrubs Satellite Launch

Cape Canaveral,Fla.(970 WFLA)- A NASA mission to study the upper atmosphere is being delayed.

A Northrup Grumman Pegasus rocket carrying the 240-million-dollar ICON satellite was scheduled to blast off from the belly of an  L-1011 jet called the "Stargazer"  early this morning.

NASA said the launch was scrubbed because engineers encountered an anomaly while flying the rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station to its drop zone about 100 miles off the coast of Daytona Beach.

Another launch attempt could come as soon as early Thursday morning
