Fly from Tampa Without a TSA Check

TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Keep your shoes on.

A new service that starts Thursday (8th) out of Tampa won't require passengers to go through TSA screening.

Southeast Airways Express launches nonstop flights between Tampa and West Palm Beach on a nine-seat Cessna 208 Caravan operating from the general aviation facility instead of the Tampa International Airport terminal. Passengers don't have to go through security screens. The service is intended to compete with private planes and charter service. Service is planned up to three times a day.

Spokesperson Emily Nipps says this is the first such service at TPA in recent memory, although the airport has hosted other similar services in the past.
