Deputy Involved Shooting After Neighbor Shoots At Neighbor With A Flare Gun

Palm Harbor, Fla. (970 WFLA)-A  woman was seriously injured after a deputy-involved shooting at the Stillwater Palms Apartments in Pinellas County.

27 year old Gia Tomossone called deputies when she noticed her car windows were smashed.   Deputy Joseph Wodraska was investigating, when an argument started between Tomossone's boyfriend, 33 year old Kevin King and a neighbor, 39 year old Joshua D'Anastasio.

That's when according to the sheriffs report, D'Anastasio fired what turned out to be a flare gun.  Detectives say Deputy Wodraska, in fear for the safety of those around him,  fired his gun. The shots missed D'Anastasio,  but one bullet went through a glass door where it hit D'Anastasio's girlfriend, 42 year old Gwen Stubbs, in her left arm.

D'Anastasio was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Deputy Wodraska is on routine paid administrative leave.
