No Trick or Treat for Sex Offenders on Hallowe'en

TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Police in Tampa are checking on sex offenders... reminding about 250 of them that they're not allowed to entertain trick or treaters on Hallowe'en (October 31).

"We'll have 14 folks... out on Hallowe'en... touching base with sex offenders... about the rules," spokesman Steve Hegarty told Newsradio 970 WFLA.

The rules are: turn off the lights and don't answer the door.

Parents anywhere in Florida can find a map of sex offenders in their neighborhood on the Florida Department of Law Enforcement website.
