A judge in Polk County has set bond at $150,000 for former Lakeland city commissioner Michael Dunn, who's spent nearly a week in jail on a second degree murder charge.
Dunn is accused of gunning down a shoplifting suspect in Dunn's Lakeland military surplus store October 3rd.
During the bond hearing, attorney Rusty Franklin said his client felt threatened by Cristobal Lopez, whom Franklin said had just stolen a hatchet.
Dunn will have to remain on house arrest. He won't be allowed to return to work at his store, which sells guns.
Joining Dunn's defense team is Orlando attorney Mark O'Mara, who represented George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case.
