TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- The tent is going up at Metropolitan Ministries... to collect donations for the holidays.
The group's Vice President Justine Burke says they're not serving as many needy people as they did during the Great Recession, but they expect the numbers to bump up this year, 20,000 families compared with 18,000 in 2017.
They're expanding services to east Pasco county, partnering with a local charity in the Dade City area for the first time this year.
There will be two donation tents... one near the corner of Cass and Nebraska in downtown Tampa, and another at the Metropolitan Ministries campus in Holiday. To find out what they need, or how to apply for help, follow this link.
