Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Triple A says Florida gas prices are holding after rising ten cents a gallon a couple of weeks ago. The Florida average of $2.82 is the same as a week ago, but that number is 4 cents more per gallon than a month ago.
AAA's Mark Jenkins says global supply and concerns continue to influence prices. Jenkins says OPEC output is low and that U.S. sanctions will limit oil exports of crude oil from Iran.
The most expensive gas prices in Florida are in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area at $2.93. The least expensive gas in Florida is in the Tampa-St. Petersburg area at $2.78.
So far, Hurricane Michael is not causing any rise in oil or gas prices as most of the oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico are off Louisiana or Texas.
