Man Confronts Pasco Co. Deputy, Admits Murder

Wesley Chapel, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A suspect in a Jacksonville murder turned himself in to a deputy, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said. The deputy approached his car in the parking lot of a convenience store on State Road 56 he had just visited early Saturday when a man "who had what appeared to be blood all over the front of his clothes" came up to him, according to a news release from the PCSO.

The man, Marco Stephens, 29, told the deputy that he had killed his wife in Jacksonville, and had intended to kill himself, but decided to turn himself in instead. The deputy detained Stephens while the Sheriff's Office contacted their colleagues at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Detectives from JSO traveled to Pasco County and arrested Stephens for the murder of his wife.
