LARGO (970 WFLA) -- You may remember the couple accused of scamming a dozen families in Largo out of $28,000, by renting out homes they didn't have the right to lease. Many of those families were left strapped for cash after scraping up money for a deposit, only to find that their lease agreements were fraudulent.
They fled to New York before the victims caught on, but police say they've finally been busted.
Largo police say Nicole and David Johnson have been caught in Las Vegas, trying to pull off a similar scam. They're in jail awaiting extradition back to Florida.
