Police Lights

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police have identified 35 year-old Justin Vancleff Heilig of Salisbury, North Carolina, as the man shot and killed in the 600 block of South Willow Avenue over the weekend.

Police were called to the scene by a resident of the area who heard the gunfire.  Police arrived to find Heilig on the ground.  Officers says Heilig died a short time later at the hospital.

Detectives say it does not appear that Heilig's murder was random, but officers are still trying to find out why Heilig was in Tampa.

Police are asking people who own businesses, or who live in the area, to check surveillance video for anything unusual.  Anyone with any information on the shooting is being asked to report it to the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130.
