Gas Prices Up

AAA gasoline price

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Sticker shock at the gasoline pump.  Triple A here says gasoline prices jumped up by ten cents last week.  The state average of $2.82 is 20 cents more per gallon than this time last year.

Auto Club Group spokesman Mark Jenkins says concerns about how sanctions against Iranian crude oil will impact the global oil supply are contributing to the higher prices.  Jenkins expects low seasonal demand for gas and cheaper to produce winter-blend gas should help to offset some of the upward pressure.

AAA says Florida drivers found the most expensive September gasoline prices in four years.  Prices averaged $2.77 per gallon last month.  That figure is 59 cents more per gallon than September of 2016.

The most expensive gas in Florida is in the West Palm-Boca Raton area at $2.91.  The least expensive gas in Florida is in Tallahassee at $2.78.
