Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A shooting early Sunday left a man dead and police trying to find leads in the case. A neighbor heard gunshots in the 600 block of South Willow Ave. at about 4:30 a.m. and called police. Police officers found a man between the age of 20 and 30 years old injured from gunfire. He died later at a hospital, according to a news release from Tampa Police.
Detectives are "meticulously combing the scene for evidence and interviewing neighbors to develop leads," the release said, that would help them identify a suspect or suspects, as well as what led to the fatal shots. They also urge people in the neighborhood to check any surveillance video that might have caught something on camera around the time of the shooting that would help police.
They ask people with information to call Tampa Police at (813) 231-6130. CrimeStoppers offers a reward of up to $3,000 for anonymous tips that lead to an arrest in the case. Police did not release the name of the victim.
