Sarasota, Fla.(970 WFLA)-Allman Brothers Band co-founder Dickey Betts is hospitalized in critical condition after a fall at his home in Sarasota.
Betts' manager says the 74-year-old guitarist fell and cracked his head while playing with his dog in his backyard on Monday. He's scheduled for surgery Friday to relieve swelling on his brain.
Just last month, Betts suffered a stroke that forced him to cancel tour dates, but he had been responding well to treatment.
