Tarpon Springs, Fla-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police here say a local man, 58 year-old Jon Pendleton, is dead after being hit by two cars while trying to cross U.S.19 in his wheelchair.
Investigators say Pendleton was not in the crosswalk and was going against a red light when he was hit by the first vehicle. That impact knocked Pendleton out of the wheelchair and into the street. Police say that is when the second car struck the man. Both vehicles did stop.
Pendleton was transported to Florida Hospital of North Pinellas and was pronounced deceased there.
