Jonchuck trial delayed

Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge Chris Helinger has decided to delay the murder trial of Jon Jonchuck.

Jury selection was supposed to begin next Monday, September 24th, on charges Jonchuck killed his five-year-old daughter Phoebe by dropping her frm an approach bridge to the Sunshine Skyway in 2015.

The judge's reluctant decision ended a lengthy pre-trial hearing in which there was debate over a crucial state witness--a doctor who's expected to testify that, in spite of HE JUDGE'S RELUCTANT DECSION ENDED A LENGTHY PRE-TRIAL HEARING IN WHICH THERE WAS DEBATE OVER A CRUCIAL STATE WITNESS--A DOCTOR WHO'S EXPECTED TO TESTIFY THAT, IN SPITE OF A HISTORY OF MENTAL ILLNESS, JONCHUCK WAS NOT LEGALLY INSANE AT THE TIME OF PHOEBE'S MURDER.  THERE WILL BE A HEARING NEXT MONDAY IN WHICH THE JUDGE IS EXPECTED TO SET A NEW TRIAL DATE.
