Manatee County, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Two teenagers died and a 12-year-old girl suffered critical injuries in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Chase Coyner, 17, drove west on State Road 64 just after 7:30 p.m. when he tried to turn left onto Pope Road and drove into the path of an oncoming pickup truck, according to a news release from the FHP. Coyner and his 15-year-old passenger, Matthew Powers, both died. A 12-year-old girl in the truck suffered critical injuries. The truck's driver survived with only minor injuries.
