Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A pedestrian died after the side mirror of a van struck her as she walked on US-301, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Rhonda Darlene Reel, 52, of Gibsonton suffered fatal injuries as she walked on the shoulder of 301 south of Sabal Industrial Blvd. at about 8:10 p.m. Friday. The FHP said the side mirror of the Ford E350 van that Justin Larry, 21, of Seffner drove struck her. Troopers say alcohol did not play a role in the death, but charges are pending in the case.
