The Eye Of Hurricane Florence Is Wobbling Slowly SW Near SE N.C.

Miami, Fla. (970 WFLA)-9:00AM EDT-The eye of Hurricane Florence wobbling slowly southwestward near the coast of southeastern North Carolina.

NOAA Doppler weather radar data and surface observations indicate that the center of the eye of Hurricane Florence has been wobbling southwestward near the coast of southwestern North Carolina.

Location...34.0 N,  78.0 W, about 20 miles  southwest of Wilmington, North Carolina, about 55 miles east of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Maximum sustained winds  85 mph.

Present movement  southwest at 6 mph.

Minimum central pressure...958 mb...28.29 inches

Miami, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Isaac weakens to a depression over the eastern Caribbean Sea, bands of rain lingering over the Lesser Antilles.

Location near 15.0N  65.5 W, about 190 miles south-southwest of St. Croix, about 380 miles, southeast of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Maximum sustained winds 35 mph.

Present movement west at 15 mph.

Miami, Fla. (970 WFLA)-At 8:00AM EDTTropical Storm Helene is accelerating northward and is expected to bring gusty winds and heavy rains to the Azores this weekend.

Location...31.9 N  36.7 W, about 725 miles southwest of Lajes Air Base in the Azores

Miami, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Joyce moving southwestward but expected to turn eastward by tonight.

Location...32.1 n 44.9 w, about 1090 miles west-southwest of the Azores.

Present movement south-southwest at 8 mph.

Minimum central pressure...1003 mb...29.62 inches

Miami, Fla.(970 WFLA)-Shower activity has changed little in organization in association with a broad area of low pressure located over the western Gulf of Mexico.  Although upper-level winds appear conducive for development, this low only has a short period of time to develop into a tropical depression before it moves inland over northeastern Mexico and southern Texas later today. 

An Air Force reconnaissance plane is scheduled to investigate the system later today,  if necessary. 

Regardless of development, heavy rainfall and gusty winds are expected across portions of northeastern Mexico and Texas later today and Saturday.
