Hurricane Florence is starting to thrash the North Carolina coast with tropical storm-force winds as a category 2 storm.

At 11 a.m. Thursday, Florence was 145 miles east-southeast of Wilmington, North Carolina.  Top winds are now 105 mph as it moves northwest at 10mph.

Forecasters believe Florence will make a very slow trek towards the coast and will likely make landfall early Friday morning.
