Florence still a major, category 4 hurricane

Hurricane Florence continues on her northwestward track toward the Carolinas.  Forecasters with the National Hurricane Center expect Florence to hug the coasts of North and South Carolina Friday morning and move southward along the coast.  

It's expected to be a very slow trek until it makes landfall in South Carolina, moving inland as a tropical storm by Sunday.  And forecasters say that means potentially deadly and devastating flooding along that portion of the Carolinas.  

At 11 a.m. Wednesday, Florence was a category 4 storm with 130 mile-an-hour winds.  A hurricane warning is in effect for South Santee River, South Carolina to Duck, North Carolina and a hurricane watch is in effect from South Santee River to Edisto Beach, South Carolina.
