Florence No Problem For Gas Prices

AAA gasoline price

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-AAA says Hurricane Florence had no effect on gasoline prices.  In fact, gas prices here in Florida actually declined for 16 consecutive days. Prices dropped by a total of seven cents during that period.

The auto club says both the Plantation and Colonial pipelines were unaffected by Florence and are running at full capacity. The pipelines are the primary suppliers of fuel to the lower Atlantic region.

The Florida average for a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.74.  The new average is 3 cents less than a week ago and 5 cents less than a month ago.

The most expensive gas prices in Florida are in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area at $2.84. The least expensive gas can be found in the Tampa-Saint Petersburg area at $2.67.
