Sarasota, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police here have arrested a man on forty counts of sexual performance by a child. Officers say 12 of the counts against 59 year-old Regan Stunkel are for promoting and manufacture of a sexual performance by a child. The other 28 counts are for possession of a sexual performance by a child.
Sarasota P.D. detectives got information from a confidential informant that Stunkel was in possession of child pornography. Police than raided Stunkel's home on Central Avenue.
Investigators from the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office conducted forensic exams on Stunkel's digital devices and found more than 70,000 images of children engaged in sex acts on Stunkel's iPad.
The investigation is continuing and more charges are likely. Stunkel is being held on no bond.
