Tampa Sailor Returns from Deployment Aboard USS New York: One of The Navy's Tributes to 9/11

MAYPORT, Fla. – A 2015 Tampa Bay Technical High School graduate and Tampa, Florida, native is one of more than 1,000 Sailors who recently returned to Naval Station Mayport after a six-month deployment to the Middle East and Mediterranean areas of operation.
Petty Officer 3rd Class James Thomas is a Navy boatswain's mate aboard the New York, an amphibious transport dock ship, which takes Marines to the locations they need to support U.S. interests around the world.
