Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Results of the latest testing shows red tide has been found in high concentrations off Pinellas County for the first time, since the organism showed up in waters off the states southwest coast almost a year ago.
This was the first observation of “high” concentrations offshore of Pinellas County.
Relative to last week, however, parts of Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee and Collier counties showed decreased cell concentrations, and none of the samples processed from Charlotte County over the past week contained “high” concentrations of Karenia brevis.
