DeLAND (970 WFLA) -- A woman is hospitalized in critical condition, after she was struck by lightning outside a Denny's restaurant on Woodland Boulevard Tuesday afternoon.
Police say a coworker was talking to 41 year old Summer Conner Tuesday afternoon, finding out how the day went away from other employees. He told officers he felt a shock when he touched a car door handle ... then turned and saw Conner on the ground. Another eyewitness says it was hardly raining, that the strike came out of nowhere.
Police released a picture of Conner's phone, which took a hit from the bolt.
