Clearwater Beached Whales Recovering in Sarasota

Clearwater, Fla. (970 WFLA)- Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews helped Clearwater Marine Aquarium rescue two stranded false killer whales on Sand Key Wednesday. 

Firefighters say it took an hour and a half to get the whales calmed down enough to move onto a truck. 

The whales were taken to Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium to recuperate.
