Hudson, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Coast Guard crews are continuing their search for a missing 57-year-old diver who disappeared 30 miles off the coast of Hudson on Wednesday, while another diver was rescued.
The captain of a dive boat called the Coast Guard around 4PM yesterday to report the two divers were last seen on a dive near the RJ Thompson wreck site, but never resurfaced.
Shortly after 8PM last night, one Coast Guard crew spotted one of the divers, a 34-year-old, five miles southeast of the dive site.
Crews are continuing their search for the 57-year-old missing diver who was last seen wearing a black wet suit and a silver oxygen tank.
The Coast Guard is asking any boaters to keep a lookout in the area and call their St. Petersburg station at (727) 824-7506 with any information.
