Gas Prices Drop

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-It won't cost you as much to fill up the Harley this week as Gasoline prices in Florida are drifting lower.  Triple A says the Florida average for a gallon of regular has dropped from $2.80 a week ago to $2.76 this week.

AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins says prices dropped after crude oil inventories grew and gasoline supplies remained stable as demand remained strong.  Jenkins says the Summer driving season is winding down. Jenkins does, however, expect a spike in demand over the upcoming Labor Day weekend.

The most expensive gas prices in Florida are in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton area at $2.86. The least expensive gas in Florida can be found in the Ft. Myers-Cape Coral area at $2.69.
