Thonotosassa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Hillsborough County deputies have arrested a man wanted for murder in Miami after a short standoff at a home here.
Hillsborough deputies got a call from Miami-Dade officers that 31 year-old Saddoni Levirrick Dowtin may be hiding somewhere in the area. The investigation led deputies to a home at 9305 Grandfield Road.
Deputies attempted to make contact with Dowtin, but were unsuccessful. Since Dowtin was reported to be armed and dangerous, the SWAT team was called in and set up a perimeter around the place.
The surrounding homes were evacuated and a nearby bus stop was rerouted outside of the perimeter as a precaution.
Dowtin finally surrendered after he realized he was surrounded and there was no way out.
