Port Richey, Fla. (970 WFLA) - An elderly driver attempting a U-turn pulled into the path of a motorcycle Saturday, and the resulting crash killed the rider, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
James Pulver, 83, drove north on US-19 near San Marco drive at about 12:30 p.m. when he tried to make a U-turn from the left turn lane. As he did, he pulled in front of the motorcycle ridden by Jacob Giantasio, 23, according to a news release from the FHP.
The right front of Pulver's car struck the front of Giantasio's bike, the FHP said, and Giantasio died at the scene from injuries he suffered in the crash. Charges are pending in the case, according to the news release.
