Two Tampa Officers And Bicyclist Injured After Patrol Car Crash

Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Two Tampa Police Officers and a person on a bicycle were injured, in a car crash last night on East Martin Luther King.

All three were sent to the hospital.  The unidentified patrolman and a passenger, a police reserve officer, were on their way to an emergency around 10:45 pm, when they approached  East Dr. Martin Luther King and North Florida. That's where a car crossed over into squad cars lane.

To avoid a collision, the officer swerved  off the narrow roadway and slammed his cruiser into a tree, just as  a bicyclist  was  heading east on MLK,  they  were also injured.

The reserve officer has been treated and  released from the hospital.   The officer driving the car and the bicyclist remain in the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Police tell us they are questioning the other driver.
