Venice, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A man died after his pickup truck swerved into a car then ran off I-75 and struck a tree Saturday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Roger Solorzano, 57, of North Port, drove south on the Interstate at 12:42 p.m. when he first veered right, then back left, and into the car driven by Brittany Gonzalez, 27, of St. Petersburg, according to a news release from the FHP.
Solorazno's truck then left the roadway and collided with a tree. Gonzalez's car also went off the road. Solarzano died later at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Gonzalas survived with minor injuries. Troopers do not expect charges filed in the case.
