Pinellas Park, Fla. (970 WFLA) - The man had moved to the area in just the last two weeks when gunfire ended his life, police said.
Maurice A. Cole, 20, died after a shooting in the parking lot of the Bell Apartments on 78th Avenue. Cole had come from Colorado Springs, Colo. and had stayed at the complex, where police believe his girlfriend lives, since July 16.
Investigators believe that Cole was in the parking lot with another person when the shooting at about 7 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from Pinellas Park Police. They do not think it was a random act, but they don't know the specific motive for the fatal gunfire, and have not identified a suspect.
