Florida Prosecutors To Get Stand Your Ground Case Soon

TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Pinellas Sheriff Gualtieri says the investigation into the shooting of Markeis  McGlockton is still active... even though he told deputies not to arrest the shooter, who claims self-defense under the Stand Your Ground law.

Gualtieri tells Newsradio 970 WFLA's PM Tampa Bay host Ryan Gorman, he expects to send the case to Pinellas State Attorney Bernie McCabe 'soon.' He urges everyone to 'keep an open mind' as the case proceeds and his detectives follow 'the facts and the law.'

Gualtieri says they have a lot of evidence that goes beyond the viral surveillance video at a Clearwater convenience store, including interviews with witnesses and shooter Michael Drejka.
