Tampa,Fla.(970 WFLA)-The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says it has hundreds of open positions and it hopes some new hiring guidelines will help them recruit qualified deputies.
Until recently, tattoos on hands or necks made candidates ineligible, but now they will be considered on a case-by-case basis. also an applicant no longer has to have college credits, as long as the person has a high school diploma and three years of military service.
There used to be a three year wait from the last time a trainee used marijuana, but now, they will consider hiring someone after two years of using it.
