- Trump will hold a rally here in Tampa on July 31st to campaign for Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis. This is considered a large win for Scott's campaign, and subsequently a loss for GOP candidate Adam Putnam. Gov. Rick Scott has announced that he will not be in attendance at the rally due to scheduling conflicts.
- Democratic candidate Jeff Greene is also making waves, his entrance into the race seems to have had a negative impact on Phillip Levine. Greene has spent over $10.2 million in advertising in the past month, including a controversial NRA ad.
- An analysis from TargetSmart found that the youth vote in the state of Florida saw a huge surge following the efforts put forward from students affected by the Parkland shooting- but the survey was overly selective and incomplete, thus not completely valid. University of Florida's Dan Smith says it is too hard to truly detect whether youth voter registration is truly up because of this.
- Gov. Rick Scott has brought in $22 million in campaign contributions so far in his race for the Senate- the largest amount brought in during the first quarter in Florida history. $14 million of that came from his personal fortune.
