Oldsmar Man Arrested For Sexual Battery On A Minor

Oldsmar, Fla. (970 WFLA)- A 49 year old Oldsmar man who is a former deputy is facing charges of  sexual battery on a minor.

According to the Pinellas Sheriff's report, Christopher Stufft, was in a short term relationship with the mother of the ten year old victim, when he  invited the woman  and her daughter over to his Countryside Key Boulevard home to watch a movie.

The victim had just fallen asleep,  sitting next to her mother and Stufft on the couch , when the mother went to the back porch to smoke a cigarette.  While she was outside,  the sheriff's office says Stufft assaulted the child and took illicit photographs of her with his cellphone camera.

Detectives say after the child discreetly told her mother, they left Stufft's house and returned home to call deputies.

Detectives say during an interview Stufft denied inappropriately touching the girl, but through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to confirm the sexual battery did take place.

Stufft is charged with one count of sexual battery on a child under the age of twelve.

Stufft  was a  deputy for the Charles County Sheriff's Office in Maryland from 2004 to 2009.
