Rescue In The Gulf

Tarpon Springs, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-The U.S. Coast guard and a good Samaritan have rescued five boaters after their boat capsized over 20 miles west of Anclote Key.

A Coast Guard C-130 on a training flight spotted the five people hanging on to debris from their 30 foot dive boat. The aircraft crew dropped a life raft and put out an urgent call for help.

The "Two Georges" charter fishing boat out of Tarpon Springs responded to the emergency call and managed to pull all five of the boaters aboard.

A Coast Guard 45 footer was dispatched from Coast Guard Station Sand Key and transferred the boaters from the "Two Georges."  There were no injuries.
