Lealman, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-A two month-old baby has been pronounced deceased after being found underwater in a child's bathtub. It's all under investigation by Pinellas County deputies, but the early indication is accidental drowning.
Investigators say little Kavina Navanetharaj had been placed in the small bathtub by her mother at their home on Dunfries Street, North. The small tub was then placed in the home's big bathtub. Investigators say 32 year-old Sureka Sivalingam then got into the empty bathtub to give her daughter a bath.
Deputies believe Sureka had some sort of medical issue and passed out. A family member went to check and found both baby and mom unresponsive. Both were rushed to Saint Petersburg General.
The baby was dead at the hospital. Mom has since been treated and released.
