St. Pete Fire Rescue Jumps In After Snorkel Lesson Goes Wrong

St. Petersburg, Fla. (970 WFLA)-St. Pete Fire and Rescue Marine Unit 11,  caught on camera as they go to work rescuing three people, somewhere near St. Petersburg.

Here's the post from St. Pete Fire Rescue's Twitter page,@StPeteFR:  " Marine 11 rescued one adult male, one adult female and a 10 year old girl.

The grandfather wanted to teach his granddaughter to snorkel in open water. He put her in the water first and she was taken by the current.  He jumped in to rescue her and had some issues.

All of the victims were too far from the boat to make it back by the time everyone was together,  and went to the piling.

They were wearing life vests and got the attention of some folks fishing by blowing the whistle."
