North Port Names New Police Chief

Garrison, Todd

North Port, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-City Manager Peter Lear has made an offer to Todd Garrison to be the city's next top cop. Garrison has accepted the offer to become North Port Police Chief pending the outcome of the required background check and physical.

If all goes well, Garrison is expected to start his new duties in 30 days. The 45 year-old Garrison says he's "excited to be a part of the North Port family."  Garrison's annual salary will be $125,000.

Garrison brings 26 years of professional law enforcement experience to the job.  The third generation law enforcement officer is currently a Lee County Sheriff's Office Captain and District Commander.
