TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Florida's business leaders... and a politician or two... are in town today for a summit called by the Florida Chamber of Commerce.
Agriculture commissioner and gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam is due to speak at the Florida Chamber Foundation's Learners to Earners Workforce Summit, which is going on today and tomorrow in Tampa, at the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel.
Putnam is not expected to talk about the flap over an Agriculture Department employee's mishandling of concealed carry permits. The conference is about preparing Florida's workforce... so it's likely he'll speak about his plan to encourage vocational training over college debt.
Other speakers include the chancellors of the state college and state university system. Education commissioner Pam Stewart speaks tomorrow (Wed).
