Shooting in Winter Haven Kills 1, Wounds Another

Winter Haven, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Deputies search for their suspect in a shooting Sunday that killed one man and sent another to the hospital in critical condition, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies answered a call reporting a shooting at a home on Carefree Cove Drive at 6:22 p.m. There they found Nasir D. Sutton, 23, dead and Bennie Joiner, 38, critically wounded from gunshots. Both men lived at the home.

Detectives say that 36-year-old James Steven "Spooky" Williams, who had lived with the victims off-and-on, showed up at the home. An argument ensued, and Williams started shooting, according to a news release from PCSO. There is an arrest warrant out for Williams.
