St. Petersburg, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Police now believe two people found dead inside an apartment complex Thursday died in a murder suicide.
"The preliminary investigation findings are that Ashley Chiello died of blunt trauma," St. Petersburg Police said in a news release. "Detectives believe Justin Page killed Chiello, then took his own life. The two were in a domestic relationship."
Police had discovered the bodies inside their unit at the Vibe at Gateway apartment complex on 77th Avenue North after a friend of Page's who had not seen him for "a couple of days" had asked police to a welfare check.
Page was 37. Chiello was 30. Police await official confirmation of their theory from the medical examiner.
