Pasco Gets Its First Medical Marijuana Dispensary

NEW PORT RICHEY (970 WFLA) -- Pasco County's first medical marijuana dispensary opened for business Wednesday.

It's located at 5623 U.S. 19 in New Port Richey, owned by dispensary operator Trulieve.

Spokesperson Victoria Walker says it's a great help to customers who have either had to pay for delivery or drive to Clearwater or Tampa to get medical cannabis products.

"We expect (to be able to help) anywhere from 50 to 100 patients a day in that store, but of course the patient count is growing every week" by thousands statewide, Walker says.

Walker also expects the new store will shorten wait times for patients picking up cannabis products. She says any current Trulieve customer in the Pasco and Hernando areas who has already signed up with their company and has a medical marijuana card will be able to use their new facility.
